Understand your options

Choosing the right program starts with understanding the different types of degrees and certificates 91³Ô¹Ï offers. Each option is designed to meet students where they are — whether you want to quickly gain new skills, prepare for transfer to a university or build a solid career foundation.

Transfer-oriented degrees (two years): An Associate in the Arts (AA), Associate in Science (AS) or Associate in Fine Arts (AFA) degree is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution.

Career-oriented degrees (two years): An Associate in Applied Arts (AAA) or Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree prepares students to be career-ready upon completion.

Skill-based certificates (one year or less): A Certificate (CERT) is designed to advance those in their current field, while a Career Studies Certificate (CSC) is targeted to those looking to shift into a new area of work.

  • Synchronous (live learning): Classes meet at a set time — online or in person — giving you real-time interaction with instructors and classmates.
  • Asynchronous (on-demand learning): Course materials are available 24/ 7 online, so you can complete assignments and watch lectures on your own schedule.
