HIT 141聽-聽Introduction to Healthcare and Health-IT in the U.S. (3 CR.)
Focuses on how healthcare is organized, and services are delivered in the evolving electronic healthcare environment. Covers public policy, the interrelationship of healthcare facilities and regulatory organizations, legal and regulatory issues, healthcare financing, the history and adoption of electronic health records (EHRs) and health-IT聽and reinforces the roles of healthcare professionals. Covers evolving healthcare initiatives in the electronic environment. Lecture 3 hours per week.
