Purpose: The curriculum is designed primarily for students who wish to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a baccalaureate degree in computer science. The curriculum emphasizes the study of the science of computing and the use of computing in a scientific setting.

Transfer Information: Students are advised to work closely with the faculty and counseling staff for program and course scheduling. Electives should be chosen carefully to meet the requirements of the transfer institution. The responsibility for proper course selection rests with the student.

Recommended Preparation: Satisfactory completion of the following high school units or equivalent: 4 units of English and 4 units of college preparatory mathematics.

1ÌýSelect any HIS courseÌýlisted under the social/behavioral science courses in General Education Electives . Elective should be selected with advice of a counselor or faculty advisor to meet the requirements of the transfer institution.

2ÌýStudents will come to this program with different levels of preparation. If precalculus is needed, begin withÌýMTH 167 Ìý(´Ç°ùÌýMTH 161 Ìý²¹²Ô»åÌýMTH 162 ).ÌýIf placed out of precalculus, begin withÌýMTH 263 Ìýand replace the precalculus credits with twoÌýelectives fromÌýfootnote #3 that total five credits or more.Ìý

3ÌýMay choose from the following list: CSC 205 ,ÌýCSC 208 ,ÌýCSC 215 ,ÌýMTH 265 , MTH 266 ,ÌýMTH 288 , PHY 201 Ìýor any science listed on footnote #6 and #7.Ìý Students should consult a faculty advisor and their transfer institution to select appropriate courses.ÌýÌý

4ÌýSee humanities/fine arts courses listed underÌýGeneral Education Electives . Students must choose courses from two of the three areas listed. Credit will not be applied if student takes two courses from the same area. Electives should be selected with advice of a counselor or academic advisor to meet requirements of the transfer institution.

5ÌýMTH 245 Ìýmay be used for this requirement if the student’s transfer institution requires it.
